About the Event
In the era of the 4th industrial revolution, billions of people are connected by mobile devices, and convergence of technologies, such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, 3D printings, robotics, and biotechnologies, is made possible. The 4th industrial revolution thus has potential to change many aspects of global economy. For instance, transformative business models keep emerging, and new business opportunities are limitless. Considering the fact that ICTs and smart technologies are the center of the 4th industrial revolution, APEC women should be encouraged to utilize smart technologies for starting and running their business.
The goals of this 2-hour seminar are 1) to share best practices of APEC women entrepreneurs using ICTs or smart technologies for their businesses, 2) to explore policies and enabling conditions for promoting women’s entrepreneurship in the field of ICTs/smart technologies. This seminar will eventually benefit APEC women in understanding ways of utilizing smart technologies and harnessing business opportunities in the age of the 4th industrial revolution.
Objectives:

To familiarize APEC women with the key features of the 4th industrial revolution and new business opportunities

To promote APEC women’s capacity building for participating in the digital economy

To share best practices of APEC women entrepreneurs who use converged digital technologies, or ICT/smart technologies, as core driving force of their businesses

To provide opportunity to APEC women for exploring ways of harnessing ICT/smart technologies in their business and creating network among them
